Offline spreadsheet tool
The tool is available for beta testing as of now, not for general release. Please submit your request only if you can take the time out to test it on data set(s), and commit to giving a feedback within reasonable time.
Uses of the offline tool
#1 - To calculate SES score and categorization for each individual data-points in your dataset#2 - To cross-check the calculations (of score and SES category) manually done by you, as a validation
#3 - To save/print/save as PDF the real-time update of the scale used in your study (for future reference)
What you need to input in the tool –
code for Education, code for Occupation, total family income.
What the tool will do –
a) Calculate the Kuppuswamy scale score and category.
b) Data validation for several possible errors in data entry like blanks, invalid codes, erroneous alphanumeric entries etc.
What the tool will not do –
Coding of the occupation and education.

A downloadable spreadsheet tool for automatic calculation of Kuppuswamy’s SES Scale for each individual participant in your study, has been developed.
